After downloading the Academic licensed version of ARIS Architect (v9) installation file from within the Academic micro-site. After the file has downloaded the "ARIS.98.2.0.2_Client.zip" file I have attempted it, unsuccessfully with both WinZip and the Windows 10 native Folders Extraction Wizard. The error received by Windows 10 native function is " Cannot complete the compressed (zipped) Folders Extraction Wizard/ The compressed (zipped) folder is empty. Before you can extract files, you must copy files to this compressed (zipped) folder."

Hi Mark,

I have checked everything, and it worked for me.

My guess is that it might be corrupted due to your problems downloading the zip-file in the first place (as you mentioned in your e-mail). I didn't have any problems with that either (took me about one hour to download the file).

Very sorry not to be of much help,

Felix

Many thanks, to you Felix, for taking the time to check this. I will try to download it at another location.

Hello Felix. I have discovered information that is potentially relevant to the file package structure; ZIP (archive) format. The structure is susceptible to corruption when porting via FTP to a location. Follows is the detail sourced from Corel's WinZip product online presence (Article ID: 149, Last updated: 18 May, 2012)

If you test the Zip file before uploading it to an FTP server and no errors are reported, but after uploading the Zip file is damaged, the behavior is likely to be due to corruption of the Zip file during the file transfer. Please note that when transferring via FTP, the binary mode must be used; atext or ASCII transfer will always result in corruption of a Zip file.

(This information does not relate to either FTP Site (as Zip file) or the FTP option of the WinZip Job Wizard of WinZip Pro.)

Hi Mark,

we tested the link again, and again it all worked well for us. It really seems to be a local problem.

Has anybody of your colleagues from your university encountered similar problems?

Best Regards,

Felix
