A complete newbie to BPM but working with a partner who is using ARIS professional for the BPM with the customer and all they can share with us is pictures of the model, which is not very helpful when you need to search for items within the model. I was wondering if it would be possible to use ARIS express to act as a middle man just to provide us with the ability to search the model, so can ARIS Express read a model developed and saved in ARIS PRofessional and is there a way to ship a ARIS Professional file via email, the partner keeps saying all they can do is export the file into Excel as a diagram :-(

no, this is not possible. You can only import models created with ARIS Express into our professional offerings, but not the other way around.
However, your partner might have an installation of ARIS Business Publisher so that can browse models in your browser without needing access to our professional tools. Here, you are able to search models, too. Ask them if they have this product and can give you access (probably via VPN).
