Hi,
In a report, is there a way to change the GUID of an existing model ?
regards,
Fabien.
Hi Fabien,
That should not be possible as the GUID is generated...
Why would you want to change the GUID? One work-around would be to create a new definition of the object with the same attributes as the one you want a different GUID for.
Hope this helps :)

Hi,
We are creating our own modification process.
When a model need to be modified, we create a variant of it in a Working group => New GUID.
The user work on the slave model and when he has finished his job, a report is launched, and replaces the Master Model with the modified one.
But the GUID of the Model if now different than the initial one. And now that's a problem for versioning and the rest of our operation.
So I want to set the old GUID to the new Model after having deleted the old one.
Hi!
If you don't want to change the GUID, you can programmatically remove all objects from "old version" model and then create occurrences of all objects, connections and texts from "temporal version" with the same positions and settings.
Hope, this helps.

tP3eLHit Ilya,
The solution you propose is the last one I want to develop.
Because of the amount of code you need to write and maintain (Create all, objOcc, CnxOcc, graphics, txt ...) in comparison of a Model.ChangeGroup().
But, I succeed in using MyModel.ModifyGUID("XXX-XXX-XX-XXX");
Thanx
