Hi together,
we have the following constellation: 5 PCs in the same subnet (W8.1, I5, 8GB RAM, 255 GB SSD) On each PC is ARIS 9.7 with a facultiy one year licence (until 02-2016) installed. The local server starts, but lost connection after 5 minutes oder after 10 minutes, the intervals are not understandable. The user can´t connect again, the PC must rebooted! Look at the picture, please help!
First of all, the log files are needed to investigate this any further. For LOCAL you can run collectLogFiles.bat in folder C:\SoftwareAG\ARIS9.7\LOCALSERVER\support-localserver.
You could also check if you experience the same issue when installing the newest ARIS 9.8 SR2 release instead of ARIS 9.7. Of course, all your data created in 9.7 can be used in 9.8.x. Just export your databases as .ADB files.
Cheers
Rune
Seems as if some ports get used by another application (14048 to 14051). You could check that after your PC is booted up but ARIS not yet started. Paste the following command in a Command Prompt:
netstat -ao | find "14051"
If you get a list with that port although ARIS is not running, then you have a port conflict.
The right hand column shows the PID. In Task Manager you can identify a program via its PID on the tab Processes by adding the column PID via menu View/Select Columns.
A faster alternative to check a port and the program owning it is using TCPView by Sysinternals.

Dear Rune,
obviously it is up to the TCP port 140051. This is opened by Java. If the connection to the ARIS Server no longer works, then the connection over this port no longer be built. The netstat -ao commandl | find "14051" indicates in this connection then "SYN_GESENDET" on. But who or what disturbs the connection over port 14051 or breaks can not be found out. I have uninstalled already all other programs off the firewall, the virus scanner was also uninstalled.
Is it possible to run ARIS on a different port?
Best regards
Rainer
