Hello,
I recently installed the ARIS 9.8 and when I was opening a restored database with the entire method filter (previously created in ARIS 9.5) I cannot find some model types (ex. IT Architecture Mapping, IT Architecture Matrix) and there are also some object types which are missing.
Any help on how to overcome this would be greatly appreciated!
Best regards, Felipe Henriques.
Hello,
please import a filter with your method customizations that you made in ARIS 9.5. The filter you worked with all the time before should do the trick (not the Entire Method filter, since you can't export that). Then your custom model and symbol types should appear. If you worked with Entire Method all the time without ever generating a custom filter and you still have an instance of the 9.5 environment, you can generate a filter from the database in your 9.5 environment and import that to 9.8. Take particular note of the text message you receive upon restoring a database. It points out, that you should import the filter with any method customizations of the database.
If object types are missing, this could be a license issue. Are you sure, that you have the same license extensions assigned to you as before?

Hi,
I think the problem is beyond my previous database (created in ARIS 9.5) because even creating a new database in ARIS 9.8 I cannot create a new model of type "IT architecture matrix" (see image attached) and I think this model type should exist in ARIS 9.8, according to ARIS help where I can find this model type listed.
Regards, Felipe Henriques.
Please make sure, that you are assigned the extension pack license "Enterprise Architecture Management". The ARIS help describes everything, but part of it is only available with certain license extension packs. This is the case for the IT architecture matrix (model type number 206). This license extension - like all licenses - is assigned to individual users. So please check in UMC, if your user account has got that license.
Hi,
Thanks for your help, it worked!
However, when I try to import a filter (previously created in ARIS 9.5) I receive a message saying "To import the file you must have the 'ARIS Access' license privilege". But I already imported this license in UMC. So I am not understanding why this is happening!
Hello Felipe,
do you distinguish between "importing the license" and "assigning it to a user acoount"? Did you try restarting the Architect client, after you were assigned that license?
Take a look into the UMC, check the License privileges of your user account, that it really has got the "Access" license extension.
