Hello,
I have an Aris Business Server with a database that holds several user groups to restrict user access to specific contents in the database.
When I create the export for this database and publish it to our Business Publisher Server the whole content goes up, however only one or two of all the user groups are copied to it. Thus, a number of users wont have access to the published content.
As a workaround, I created a single user with view only privileges for everyone to log in, however, I'm unable to restrict content access.
Aris Business Server 7.1.0.490292 is running on a Win2003 x64 server with DB2 database.
Aris Business Publisher 7.1.0.490292 is running on a Win 2003 x64 server with MSSQL database.
Thanks in advance.
Hi Fernando,
You must remember that the BP only considers the Usergroup's settings. Any settings / access your users have themselves does not have an impact on the BP...
You can have a look at the "quick_start_guide_aris_bpub_s.pdf" document on the CD for all the instructions, but also on the help files. Search for "Publish databases as a Publisher export".
If some of your Usergroups are missing, in the publisher, it might be a bug on the system, or alternatively it might be that no access is defined for those groups so they are ignored. The second is a guess, so dont take my word for it. If you believe it is a bug, please take it up with the SAG support desk.

Francois
Hi Fernando!
With a web export all content of your database is published. With usergroups you have the possibility to set "read" rights for all members. This is only possible on ARIS group level.
If a user is in several usergroups you get in BP several access profiles. Take care to select the right profile when you log in.
