I have downloaded and installed ARIS Express on my PC. I'm using ARIS in relation to my work, therefor I have used my business e-mail account when creating an ARIS account. The problem is that I can't use my business account to log on to ARIS Express I get the error message which is shown in the attached file. I have tried to create a new ARIS account with my personal email account - and there was no problems when connecting to ARIS Express.

Is there special demands to the email account? I have talked to our own support and they can't help me.

I have no problem whit logging on to ARIS Community with either of the accounts.

Hi,

if you are using the Microsoft Windows installable file, most likely, Express is not able to connect to the community to check you account via the proxy. This is due to the mechanisms used to create a call through your proxy. Some proxy configurations cannot be accessed with that Express version.

The webstart version of Express has other possibilities (it runs in the JRE sandbox and does not need to care about any proxy). So a solution could be just to start the webstart version, register, and get rid of the webstart version again. The windows version will still work.

So, you could try the following:

1.) download ARIS Express via: http://download.ariscommunity.com/express.jnlp

2.) do the registration

3.) clear the webstart cache (which will delete the webstart version of express) :

via your system environment: open "Java"

first page: temporary internet files, settings, click "delete all"

4.) install the windows executable if not done yet, and start Express

Did it work?

Bye,

Frank

I have the same problem but the solution proposed didn't work for me. I run the webstart version of ARIS Express, entered correct user and password for login data and pressed Next button. The system checked login info, issued no error message, but then hung up. I was not able to get to the next step: Select language.

Could you please help me to start using Ares express.

if you are connected to a Domain network, disconnect from the network and connect to a guest network or any network not connected to your company. Once done try to sign in again. once you have selected your language and finish, go ahead connect to your Domain network and Aris Express will automatically sign in when launching Aris Express
