Just noticed that ARIS allows Initiating even-based gateways to have incoming sequence flow (no method restriction for that). And it seems that's not caught by the BPMN semantic check either.

Hi Ivo,

 

you are right. An instantiating event-based gateway should not have any incoming SF. In my opinion the BPMN Designer should not allow incoming sequence flow (thus, a  semantic check will not be necessary). I will talk to my colleagues in the BPMN Designer team.  I am sure they will change it.

Besides the fact, that the Instantiating gateways both accept incomming sequence flows, the event-based gateway does ONLY accept incomming flows (2.4b). That's even worse.
