From a research perspective, it is disappointing to see that ARIS continues to work with proprietary binary file formats.

I would have wished for a transparent XML format - and that to be stable for a longer period to come. At this stage, it is impossible to model in ARIS Express and analyze the models with research prototypes such as ProM.

Hi Jan,

students can get a free license for our professional tools for their research projects. The professional tools export all models as plain text XML files, which can be converted easily. Instead of relying on ARIS Express, just switch over to the professional tools and your requirement is fulfilled.

Applications for free ARIS research licenses can be requested at ARIS Campus.

Regards,

Sebastian
