Is it possible (in ARIS SOA Architect) to export BPMN-diagrams using the BPMN Diagram Interchange format specified in the BPMN 2.0 draft spec?

time for Software AG to prove otherwise? :-)
I had a discussion with Sinje Seidler/ Product Management Enterprise BPM about that topic and it is expected that something is coming with one of the next Servicepacks of ARIS 7.2.
(End of Q1/Q2 2012) - Pure Import of BPMN to ARIS
However that didn't sound very promising. EPC and webmethods is still their top priority, BPMN 2.0 is only recognized because of difficulties with webmethods.
Software AG is waiting for statements from SAP for further support of BPMN 2.0.
On Saphire the export via XPDL will be shown, I will be there and have a look.
Hello All,
to clarify this. We are planning to offer a BPMN 2.0 standard export with the SR 7.2 end of this year. We are testing currently together with SAP and it looks good. So far we only have a "customized version" of ARIS that can do this - this is what was shown on Sapphire/TechEd. I am still looking for the first customer to start ramp-up - so please contact me if you have a project ;-)
We will start with a process description transfer in the first version and depending on the defined approach will add services and one day also data to that.
Regarding import of BPMN 2.0 and/or round-trip I cannot say something specific yet.
Thanks for your interest.
Best Regards,
Sinje Seidler
Hi Sinje, I'm currently working on IBM BPM platform implementation project for major telecom service provider in Poland. My client is Aris user as well, and is looking for BPMN 2.0 bidirectional diagram interchange between Aris and IBM BPM platforms. Client is expecting two the following use cases: 1. Export BPMN 2.0 process definition from newly created IBM BPM application to update corporate process model repository in Aris 2. Export process definition form Aris corporate process repository in BPMN 2.0 standard and import to IBM BPM Process Designer to speed up analysis playback phase of new BPMN application development Seems I'm having the project you are looking for to start rump-up, at least with BPMN 2.0 export use case I'm sure BPMN2.0 round-trip process definitions interchange between Aris repository and BPMN platforms/engines is important not only for my client... And not only with SAP :-) I've dropped you an e-mail with proposition how to follow-up jointly Best Regards, Suavek
hm... once again in reach text format... :-)
