Hello,

I have installed Aris Express on a Windows 10 OS on a new Microsoft Surface.  The installation itself went fine.  However, the text on the dashboard seems to have been 'splashed'.  The toolbar on the diagrams is tiny.  If I use a docking station to a larger screen, all seems fine for a short time then after a while, for no apparent reason, the dashboard text goes very big and I have to exit Aris Express and go back in to reset itself.  I am also unable to pick up the ends of connectors to move them from one object to another. So I have the following questions:

1) is Aris Express fully compatible with Windows 10 operating system?  If not, when will it be?

2) is full Aris, therefore, compatible with Windows 10?  if not, will it be?

3) could it be the problem is with the new Microsoft Surfaces?  If so, will Aris Express & full Aris be useable on them.

Hello Louise,

considering ARIS Express and the dashboard text, I think it has to do with the Surface device. Generally, Express is compatible to Windows 10. Also full ARIS is, whereas, currently, we do recommend to use a lower screen resolution, because - at least currently - ARIS does not react on the screen resolution.

ARIS Express UI is even smaller then ARIS 9.x, so the problem is much more serious with Express.

Most likely, if you write you've got problems connecting objects, you do not only consider the size of the objects with your high resolution screen, but also using the touch screen of your MS surface, right?

Using the touch screen is not supported actually for our rich clients.

Bye,

Frank

Thank you Frank,

This makes sense.  I have tried using a docking station to a larger, squarer screen (Dell) and this worked better. I will try this on another surface to double check.  The diagrams themselves remain stable,  however, after a while on this larger, square screen, the dashboard text splashes and 'goes large'.  It resets again if I go out of Aris Express and then back in. Could this also be the shape of the screen?  It works very well on my normal, 'landscape' screen.  I'm asking because we will hopefully be doing a full CASE tool evaluation exercise and wonder if screen size and shape will be a consideration.

Thank you

Louise
