Hello,

Here I am asking for everybody's help again. The question is: is it possible to synchronize a project in SolMan to a database in Aris and make the process level transfer as an EPC (row display)?

I know that it is possible in theory, as long as you set it in View / Options / SAP options / Method configuration, but it just doesn't work! When I perform the synchronization, it creates regular EPCs...

What am I missing here?

Thanks everyone!

Regards,

Mariana

Hi Mariana,

i just tested the ARIS SolMan project download with EPC (row display) type on process level and it works fine.

Here my approch to use the EPC row display on process level:

At first you have to go to the method configurion option page (View / Options / SAP options / Method configuration) and select the option 'Use method configuration' and click on the button 'Method configurations'.

In the next dialog you have to click on the button 'New' and enter a name for your method configuration.

The method configuration wizard is open and you have to enter a name for your method configuration and select for the process level the model type 'EPC (row display)'.

Now finish the wizard (confirm the wirzard pages with the 'Next' button and on the last page with the 'Finish' button). At last just apply the configuration and close the dialog with click on the button 'Ok'.

Now your method configuration is active and if you perform a project download or a sychronization with the changed method configuration.

I hope it works ;-)))

Best regards,

Sascha

Dear Sascha,

Thanks for your reply!

I have tested it in a new database, I mean an "empty" database, and it did work. Now, how do you think it would turn out if I synchronize it with an existing database, which had previously been synchronized with the regular method (normal EPC)? Would it erase the existing EPCs? Would it maintain the previous EPCs and create the EPCs row display?

For now, thanks again!

Best regards,

Mariana

Hi Mariana,

If you had previously been synchronized with the standard method (normal EPC) and you had been used your own method configuration then the existing procject content is not transfered into the new method configuration e.g. a EPC is not transfered into a EPC (row display). But the new project content is used the new method configuration. That means after such a sychronization the SolMan project has to different EPC types: the type from the sychronization with the standard type (existing content) and the type from the new method configuration (new content) and it is not erased any content because of the new method configuration.

Therefore it is important to use a changed method configuration from the beginning (the first project download).

Best regards,

Sascha

Dear Sascha,

I have now performed a synchronization to a new database, using my own method configuration, contemplating EPC row display. The thing is that the model created only shows the components in the lanes. The organizational information, which is basically what I need, keeps coming inside the FADs! Check the images:

What should I do?

Mariana

Hi Mariana,

it is totally correct that the organizational information is shown only in the FAD's. If you want these information in the EPC's then you have to add manually the organizational information in the EPC's. Sorry.

Best regards,

Sascha
