Profile picture for user pamillet

hello,

In my understanding, user rights on database have to be defined in ARIS architect

but it's also available in ARIS connect administration (after function rights and license rights...), and when i clic on database rights, i have an error 401 (with a message translated from french "require an http authentification..." )

when investigating this issue, i discover that the user group is defined in ARIS connect with some functions rights, but these rights are not set in ARIS architect...

Reading the document "installation and administration", its' not clear for me what is the relation between administration in ARIS connect and administration in ARIS architect...

thanks for any help...

pam

Hello,

1.) considering the error "401": this could have been a general problem considering the login. If would just try to logout and login again.

2.) the database access rights in the ARIS connect administration allows a fast assignment of access rights for users or user groups to a database. E.g., if you have a new user, you can (multi)-select the databases, click on the "pencil" icon on the right side of the table, and assign one access privileges to all groups in all selected databases for the other user.

3.) considering function privileges, there are dedicated function privileges for users within specific databases (e.g. the function right to format attributes). The function rights in ARIS Connect define more general function rights in the ARIS connect server, e.g. the function right to do license management.

Bye,

Frank

Hi,

about the issue, that the page is not available:

> but it's also available in ARIS connect administration (after function rights and license rights...),

> and when i clic on database rights, i have an error 401 (with a message translated from french "require an http authentification..." )

This is an error which will be fixed in the next service release of ARIS 9.7.

But, you can make this page available, if you edit the file "web.xml" on your installation. Just edit the line, which are written in bold, of that file:

    <filter>

        <filter-name>DesignServerLicenseFilter</filter-name>

        <filter-class>com.idsscheer.aris.umc.security.servlet.filter.UmcLicenseTenantCheckFilter</filter-class>

        <init-param>

            <param-name>requiredProducts</param-name>

            <param-value>YDS|YCS|YDSLS|YPL|YAP</param-value>

        </init-param>

    </filter>

    <filter-mapping>

        <filter-name>DesignServerLicenseFilter</filter-name>

        <servlet-name>dispatcherservlet</servlet-name>

        <servlet-name>config/spring/ext/octopusadapter</servlet-name>

        <servlet-name>config/spring/ext/dbadmin</servlet-name>

        <servlet-name>config/spring/ext/mashzone</servlet-name>

        <servlet-name>config/spring/ext/scriptrunnerrs</servlet-name>

        <servlet-name>config/spring/ext/tcmz</servlet-name>

        <servlet-name>config/spring/ext/tcmob</servlet-name>

        <servlet-name>config/spring/ext/apiportal</servlet-name>

        <servlet-name>config/spring/ext/copernicus-publishing</servlet-name>

    </filter-mapping>

    <filter>

        <filter-name>ConnectServerLicenseFilter</filter-name>

        <filter-class>com.idsscheer.aris.umc.security.servlet.filter.UmcLicenseTenantCheckFilter</filter-class>

        <init-param>

            <param-name>requiredProducts</param-name>

            <param-value>YCS|YPL|YAP</param-value>

        </init-param>

    </filter>

    <filter-mapping>

        <filter-name>ConnectServerLicenseFilter</filter-name>

        <servlet-name>config/spring/ext/springgwt</servlet-name>

        <!-- <servlet-name>config/spring/ext/copernicus-publishing</servlet-name> -->

    </filter-mapping>

Bye,

Frank

This should be the file to be updated:

C:\SoftwareAG\ARIS9.7\server/bin/work/work_abs_<size>/base/webapps/abs/WEB-INF/

Frank

Thank you for this fix provided on the error 401. This worked for me as well.
