I want to publish models that have been created bot in business designer and in IT designer in a single web publication. Is this possible? If so, which licence do I need and how do I do it. Although Business architect allows me to merge the models into a new database without just a Business architect licence, it will not publish the resulting models. I have checked all my filters etc. so don't think that they are being excluded by filters or permissions.

Any help out there?

Thanks

Sam

Dear Sam,

you are completely right. In general ARIS Business Publisher in independant from Method limitations. In case that a user with a limited rights will create an export the result is that only content will displayed which is allowed based on his license key.

Pls change your license key with an IT license key and then you will see all your requested content.

Hope that helps.

Stefan

Changing the licence key has had no effect.

I have run the publisher both from IT architect and from Business architect having logged on as the original user called “system” with the “Entire method” filter. I am a member of the group specially set up for the publication which has read access to everything and the “entire method” as its filter. The extract was defined to move through all objects without exception.

The models that fail to publish are those that I can see in IT architect but can’t see in Business architect. Specifically this includes the types:

  • IT architecture mapping
  • IT architecture matrix (which isn’t a true matrix model and for which the link does not go through to publication as it would for other matrix models)
I don’t know which other models are specifically IT models as stuff such as “DW transformation” or “service architecture diagrams” or “IE data models” which might make sense as exclusively IT models are all available via the business designer.   Has anyone succeeded in publishing these kinds of models? If so, where else should I be looking for whatever is filtering these models out of my publication.   Sam
