Profile picture for user saniya

Hello All,

One of the user in ARIS is unable to see some objects / components missing in access diagrams though he has all the necessary privileges.

We as an admin can see everything via Entire Method filter but   the user is unable to see via his filter.

Could any one suggest a possible solution

Regards,

Saniya

Hi,

then, I only see 2 possibilities:

1.) the user actually does _not_ have access... (worth a check)

- or -

2.) the filter does not allow all the objects. You could try with the same filter.

Bye,

Frank

Hi Saniya,

I agree with Frank. Those are the only two possibilities.

In some cases what happens is that the object that the user is unable to see may be nested within a subfolder under a parent folder. While the user may have access to the parent folder, he\she may not necessarily have access to the subfolder unless you "pass on privileges" to the sub folder.

What this does is pass on the permissions of the parent folder to the sub folder thus allowing the user\usergroup to see these objects.

Hope it makes sense.

All the best.

Hello Frank / Ganesh,

Thanks for your reply

I have tried logging in through his username password and through his filter and yet I am unable to view the complete model.

I also have given the necessary privileges to the folder and subfolder.

This possibly seems very weird to me.

Cheers

Saniya

Hi,

well, did you check the filter? Actually, this is what filters are meant for...

Bye,

Frank

Yes Frank, Through his credentials, with Entire Method model is to be seen perfectly but with his own customized filter model seems incomplete

Ok, in that case the culprit is most likely the customised filter.

Do a comparison between the two filters and see if there are differences in the objects\connections that you want to see.

I believe there's standard report to do this comparison.

Cheers

Ganesh
