Hi everyone,

I am using ARIS Connect, and I am new to ARIS.

I want to model a loop in an EPC diagram and could not find any detail in the HELP section.

Can someone please let me know, how to model a loop in ARIS connect. Some screen shots or video can really help me.

Also I would like to know if I am creating same objects for different models in a repository, is it better to use the same object for all models or have different objects (but with same name) for different models? What is better and why?

Thanks in advance

Raj

Hi,

so, there are two questions: (1) loops and (2) re-usage of objects

(1) Loops

This is easy. You just connect "back" to the previous project flow". See example.

(2) re-usage of objects

Well, that depends. Mostly, you should try to re-use objects. Because an object actually represents an existing artifact, e.g. a IT system, a person, or an arbitrary activity. If you want to model an real-live person as an employee, you could use the "internal person" symbol. If you re-use this object definition (what you should do), you can see via report (or just the "object's" properties) where this person is involved. Easy, right?

And then there are objects, that are needed for the object flow but does not represent a real-live artifact. Example: rules ("or", "and" etc...). There is no need to reuse objects.

Bye,

Frank
