When I go to my business publisher I get the following error message. The password for ARIS9 needed to be changed. However, I am not aware of the location in Aris 9.7 where that password needs to be updated. The account is currently locked because it has changed. I saw this posting but when I do list external services, I see in the log files the username is eurekastreams. Where do I make the change for BP? In 7.1, i know it is located in Program Files\ARIS7.1\server\config\lockservice.cfg and you also have to update it in TomCat configuration. I cannot find any documentation that gives direction on how to do this.
Dear Thomas,
First thing is to review Publisher's log file what the exact error is that happens when you access Publisher. Is it about a missing license file, or the connection to UMC, or the database connection?
Next is to check whether the parameters for connecting Publisher back to ARIS Design/Connect Server were properly set (UMC connection URL + superuser), either during the setup of Publisher or as post-installation task (webappserver.cfg, umcconfig.cfg).
In case of an external DMBS for Publisher the parameters for the database connection need to be checked.
The account "eurekastreams" is not relevant for Publisher. It's only to used for ARIS Connect Server's Collaboration component (ecp).
Cheers
Rune
Thanks Rune for your answers. Publisher is setup to use external DBMS. The parameters to check the database connection are what I am looking for. Are those in webappserver.cfg or umcconfig.cfg? I know in 7.1 you had to "arisadmin_pwd_=password" add the _ to the end of the variable and when the service restarted it would encrypt the password. Does 9.7 encrypt the password? See below the message. I know that the account was locked as I had a DBA unlock the account for arisbp and aris9 was not locked.
Caused by: org.springframework.jdbc.CannotGetJdbcConnectionException: Could not get JDBC Connection; nested exception is java.sql.SQLException: ORA-28000: the account is locked
at org.springframework.jdbc.datasource.DataSourceUtils.getConnection(DataSourceUtils.java:80)
at org.springframework.jdbc.support.JdbcUtils.extractDatabaseMetaData(JdbcUtils.java:280)
... 29 more
Caused by: java.sql.SQLException: ORA-28000: the account is locked
These parameters you reflect the settings in webappserver.cfg and umcconfig.cfg and can be set via ARIS Cloud Controller.
Example for sizing model "m":
reconfigure businesspublisher_m +bp.age.host="MyAPGserver.domain"
This counts also for all parameters for the database connection. Example for connecting Oracle XE:
bp.ado.database="com.idsscheer.aris.businesspublisher.application.dao.database.AOracleDAO" bp.db.driver="oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver" bp.db.url="jdbc:oracle:thin:@MyOracleServer:1521:XE" bp.arisbpdata="ARISBPDATA" bp.arisbpindex="ARISBPINDEX" bp.db.username="arisbp" bp.db.passwd="ARISBP" bp.db.connection.properties="SetBigStringTryClob=true" bp.db.validation.query="Select 1 from dual"
Cheers
