G'day BPM

I was wondering if someone can help me in sharing some ARIS or BPM convention standards.

We are in the process of developing a modelling standard for a start-up university and i thought it will be great to listen to your journey.

Thank you in advance,

Talal

Hi Talal

Basis my experiance with ARIS i can say there are no set convention and standards which you should follow. it all depands on you requirement. if you have a clear vision on what and how will you be delivering then basis that you set you own standards.

E.g. In my last assignment Aris reports are of major importance so for this we made sure that

1. Proper folder structure should be in place as few reports are available at folder levels so you should have designed it well to get required results.

 2. Object should not be redundants and there should not be any orphan obejcts because they gets reflected in reports and not rightly managed. but it can be sloved using reorganisation.

3. Naming conventions was important and for reports we used identifier. so that it should be sequential.

These were the few very basic things which we took care of and i thought could be of use. and incase of any details feel free to ask.

Thanks

Ricky

Hi Tala,

i have two convention standards , actually standards are built based on others expereinces, so if you dont might send me your e-mail i can send you a standard that you can use it and customize it to build your own standard based on your own situation and requirements

Hi guys, following inquiries by Talal, I would like to get more understanding the standard in naming convention for ARIS.

For example; do we need to use capital letter for each word? E.g Close Request rather than Close request, Notify Customer instead of Notify customer?

Is it acceptable to use 'is', 'to be', 'are', 'to' and 'with' in each function or event? If it is acceptable then, should these words written in capital such as: Missing Informations Are Identified or Missing Information are Identifed? OR shall I write Missing Information Identified without using verb to be (is or are)?

Thank you
