Hi,

I am trying to access ARIS Designer 9.8 via Download client using the browser Chrome or MS Edge and I'm getting an error message , but when tried in IE 11 it works fine. Below is the screenshot of the error message and attached is the log files.

Is there any setting which needs to be set anywhere inorder for the Download client to work in Edge/Chrome browser.

Thanks and Regards,

Hi,

you are still using a (very old, by the way) version, that is stull using Java Applets. They only run in the Internet Explorer.

If you use Edge or Chrome, that does not work anymore. Applets are not supported.

Applets are able to use the certificate store, that obviously has the SSL certificate you are using.

If you use Edge or Chrome, you get the downloader for ARIS, that is started. But this acts like an own application without the possibility to use the browser certificate store but uses the store of the Java virtual machine.

You need to distribute the SSL certificate to the user's machines.

Bye,

Frank

Hi Frank,

Thanks for the quick response.

Just a follow up question which i forgot to mention.

if the users are shared via Citrix Xenapp servers and the profile is roamed using Citrix User Profile Managment.

So SSL certificate should be distributed via Citrix servers? Also if you know the location it would be super helpful.

Thanks and Regards,

Chethan Rao.

Hi,

I do not really understand, how the users are shared and how the users access the ARIS client, but on every machine/image, where the download client should start, the certificate needs to be present in the "cacerts" file of the used JRE.

Bye,

Frank

keytool.exe -importcert -file "c:\\Users\\<UserID>\\ARIS90\\aris.crt" -alias "aris.company.com" -keystore "c:\\program files (x86)\\java\\jre1.8.0_71\\lib\\security\\cacerts" -storepass changeit
