Hello Aris guru's,
I have to migrate Aris 7.x to Aris 9.x from a W2K8 server to W2016 within a few weeks, no not Aris 10 yet.
The Windows 2016 servers that will be used for Aris, don't have SSL3/TLS1.0/TLS1.1 enabled, only TLS1.2
does anybody know if this is a showstopper for the migration?
I hope to hear from a guru soon.
Thanks and Regards
Hi Marcel,
1. I recommend to update to ARIS 10 instead of ARIS 9 because ARIS 9.x is desupported in Q1 2020. You would migrate from a long desupported version to an version which will be desupported SOON.
3. Due to an architectural change from ARIS 7 to ARIS 9.x/10.x,the protocol supported by the operating system is no longer important as ARIS 9/10 have their own web server included now (an Apache httpd = "loadbalancer runnable),
which does the SSL handling and needs to support modern SSL protocols. Again , use ARIS 10.x with newest Apache Webserver inside..
3. TLS 1.2 is BTW up to date and therefore okay.

Patrik
Hi Marcel,
The migration from ARIS 7 to ARIS 10 is not an default path, rather a case-by-case decision.
The migration from ARIS 7 stuff into ARIS 10 works mostly directly, but there are some database structure related issues, which make it necessary to import the databases first to ARIS 9 than, to ARIS 10.
I would recommend you to test whether you can migrate your ARIS 7 databases directly into ARIS 10.
If this works without any error message, you can migrate directly from ARIS 7 to ARIS 10.
