Hi all, i want to create a html export from the Architect 9.8 client. I am logging in to a database with the system account, choose "database", "Publish", "HTML Export" and start the export.
A status window is opened and only you see "defaultLayout" and nothing happens.
Any idea where to look and check what can cause the export not being made.
Thanks
Hi Marcel,
I assume the status window shows a progress indicator moving back and forth? Maybe the whole process is just taking longer than you expect? It depends on the size of your database. Have you tried giving it some hours?
I just tried in ARIS 10SR16c and it is still working there. But it takes time...

Hi M. Zschuckelt, thank for your reply. I started a new html export on 5-3 at 8.30AM and cancelled it 6-3 08:00am so after 24 hrs. The progress indicator was just going back and forth. The database is not that big. Do I need more ram? There is 32Gb now.
Any ideas?
Did it produce anything in the output folder? After all it should be generating a whole website there, so I would expect something to be there after 24 hours. If you find loads of files there, it is an indication the report was doing its job and just hadn't finished, yet.
I don't know about the RAM needs. In your position I would open a ticket with Software AG Support and ask them for guidance in identifying the issue. Maybe there actually is a bottleneck somewhere that could be fixed changing some runtime parameters.
I found out that the Design server only had 3 cores and therefore the server often got timeouts. I increased it to 8 cores and now I find tons of files in C:\Programs\ARIS98\server\bin\work\work_abs_l\base\webapps\abs\temp\ReportTemp\1 and is still adding files.
I guess the process is still going on. Do you know why it can take so long. It is not a very large database.
I opened a ticket with support and had conversations but at the end I got a mail that they don't give support because i am running 9.8 and they have to spend to much time in a product that is not up2date.
Do you have any ideas what parameters I can check?
Hello Marcel,
since you now can see it is moving, I would assume that you already identified an important parameter with the number of cores. I am not into the technical administration of the environment and cannot help you further. It is also rather subjective, what a "small" or "large" database is in this context. Fact is, that the report is generating a whole website with frames, graphics, navigation and a lot of interaction possibilities, which involves heaps of little files that you observe in the making. It is complex and takes its time. Let it run through now. If you want to get a feeling first for what you will get, export just a couple of models to a new database and do the run there. Then you will see a result after a few minutes.
Hey Marcel,
I am modeling and administering a ARIS9.8-Environement. For a database which has a ca. 15MB adb-backupfile
I let the server do a html-export via report which is registered as a timed report every sunday - I choose sunday for the report because the html-export takes more then 45 min!! So you can compare that with the performance of your environement. My experience is the same as M. Zschuckelt wrote: 'It is complex and takes its time'.
