Hi Team,
I am uploading Excel filled with details in ARIS to generate models. I am able to get the desired VACD and EPC models.
One small that I have been facing is in VACD to VACD Assignment. In the assigned VACD model, I am getting one extra block (VACD function) named as parent VACD function and rest of the functions and connections are OK.
For eg:
First level VACD models is as follows:
Strategic planning & implementation ---- Budgeting & controlling --- Operational management --- Marketing and Sales
Now, Marketing and Sales has assigned lower level VACD model as :
Sales Order Management --- Pre-sales Management --- Sales Planning --- Billing --- Channel Management
I am filling excel as attached. Please see row no. 19 & 20 in first tab "Model Structure" which captures the above details (i.e. parent VACD function "Marketing and Sales" and first function of assigned VACD function "Sales Order Management") in excel.
Also attaching the image of generated ARIS model highlighting the extra VACD function names as "Marketing and Sales" in the assigned model.
Please help me with resolving this query.
Dear Kaushal,
I think your observation is ARIS' normal behavior. When creating an assignment, ARIS creates in fact a relation between an object to a model for describing that object in greater detail, then it's quite useful for a consumer of that information when that object appears again in that model as it enables could have their also connections to other objects.
Of course, if you (or better: your audience) don't feel comfortable with that, you may remove that object occurrence in that model.
Cheers
Rune
Thanks Rune for responding on my query.
While uploading excel in ARIS, do we need to mandatorily have this sequence Function-Event-function-event defined in excel sheet ??
EPC Function activates
EPC Event creates
EPC Function activates
EPC Event creates
Is there any ways to define rows in excel sheet in such a way that functions can be connected to function, there may some case where we don't want to insert any events in between functions? Please see attached image for more clarification
