Hello,
last thursday my computer had problems with my user account. First the admin created a new one that worked and copied the data from my old account to my new one. Everything worked fine. Then he deleted my old account and now my aris program won't start anymore. First and most important i like to ensure that no more data will be lost. So can someone tell me where I can find my saved Models before the admin tries to reinstall or fix the program? I'm still hoping that he did't delete them.
Best regards, Matthias.

Hi Matthias,
can you give me a bit more information?
If you are writing about ARIS Express (which I suppose to be the case), then the ADF-files are located normally in the "documents" folder of the user account. e.g. try this in the windows explorer: %HOMEPATH%\Documents\ARIS Express

Hello Frank,
I'm actually using Aris 9.6 as a student version to draw a process model. That means I'm looking for the .adb files. -
Hi,
still not precise enough.
ARIS 9.6 is a database based tool, not a file based like Express.
So:
if you use an ARIS server, the data is still there, because nothing is stored locally on the client side.
If you use the LOCAL server, then there are no ADB files. ADB files are only for backup. You chose where to store them. Normally, it is the user's document directory.

Yes I do use the local server, but since my user's directory has been deletet the server doesn't start anymore. Is there a way to fix that without loosing the data?
Edit: If i'd know the path of the local server I could search for it with a data recovery program, but sadly I don't. -

Hi Matthias,
the directory for the "LOCAL" database server depends on the location where you installed it.
If you just click through the installation routine without changing the path, it should be e.g.:
C:\SoftwareAG\ARIS9.6\LOCALSERVER

So this seems to be good news, because it also means my data is not deleted. But anyway the program doesn't start. It displays a failure: "Unable to access local server." As my admin reinstalled the Aris client this didn't change.
Maybe I have a wrong password or something like that? Can I find my password for the Local Server somewhere? -
Or may be someone can explain to me what happened to the program as my admin deleted my user account and gave me a new one. Why didn't the program start as usual?

Ok, so far I achieved the following:
-I saved the folder of the local server.
-I reinstalled the program, so that it runs again properly.
Now I want to use the old local server, or import data from the old local server. How can I accomplish that?
