My company is on the edge of an upgrade to ARIS 9.7 and we have a doubt:
How do we create an Identifier (and assign it to a user)?

Hello,
1. The user who wants to create the identifier needs the function privilege "Prefix management" on the database. So go to the Administration tab in the ARIS Architect, log in to the database, where the Prefix should be defined, go to "Users", Open the properties of the user and assign the user the function privilege "Prefix management". If you prefer, you can also assign the privilege to a user group the user is a member of.
2. The said user now can log in to the database and in the database "Properties" dialogue he can create new identifiers, which will be valid in that database.
3. Assign the prefix to a user: In Administration tab log in to the database, go to the "Users" entry, open the Properties dialogue of the user and set the new prefix as "Assigned" to the user. Probably the user doing this step needs the function privilege "User management" on database level. See step 1 on how to grant database function privileges.
