Business Process Architecture and ARIS- Framework

Btw. my gut feeling is that out of the framework's process view, it is linked to the first level of a process architecture, e.g. a VAC. And from there on it drills down.

Consider the Structuring model a generic "table of contents" model, which you use as an entry point for all users starting their drill-down into the ARIS database.

Using ARIS you may address different views like "Organizational structure", "Product/Service structure", "E2E process landscape", "Functional process landscape", "information architecture", "Enterprise architecture management", "Application landscape"...

This is just to name a few. It is popular to arrange them according to the "ARIS house" in a structuring model, linking the top level models of each view into the structuring model using assignments. So the structuring model is the "architecture of architectures" in the database. But you may use it just for any purpose, where you want to give an overview of a domain and link different model types to uniformly looking objects. So you might define your own drill-down-structure besides the natural ones along the object hierarchies.
