What is the use and scopes of ARIS?

Hello Everyone,

I am a Master's student for Production Management from Germany. I came across the ARIS through some posters and announcements in the University.

I am quite interested in knowing the applications and needs of the ARIS. Can anyboody direct me to some knowledge base or explain why people use ARIS?

Is it useful in the field of Production Management (Engineering Services)? What kind of professionals use ARIS?

I know that my know how about is at level zero but I want to learn it with some foresight in mind...
