We have recently completed a year-long effort to develop our business process models (1200+) for all functional areas. My question pertains on how other companies using ARIS keep their models "evergreen", if you will. I'm trying to get a better idea of best practices from large CPG companies... Centralized the ARIS modeling functionality or decentralize? What are the pro's and con's of both? What makes sense and is doable?
In addition, what additional functionality can ARIS provide for "tracking" process changes, like workflow options? We currently do not utilize version control... are there issues with it, or is it a database size issue only?
Any feedback would be appreciated.

Hey Martha,
We have been working on business process management and documentation of As-Is processes is a core part of the activity. Our ARIS database has two parts to it, As-Is Processes and To-Be processes.
We have utilized the versioning functionality to keep a track of changes that were made during the documentation of processes. So for a single As-Is process there may be 2-3 versions which have been updated from time to time as more details were gathered from business users.
I am not sure how have you managed to document over 1200 processes in a year's time and how have you evaluated and ensured the quality of these documented processes.
On our part, we are going to establish a ARIS QA team to ensure any future changes are reviewed and approved.

Anosh
