Background: A company has used ARIS to model their process improvement efforts. They were lacking in their standards which resulted in multiple object types being used for same thing, i.e. Organizational Unit is represented in some models as a group in others as an org unit type and also as an org unit. This was also done with applications, sometimes they used application system type objects and other times application system objects.
Problem: They are trying to clean up their database so that there are not multiple objects being used to represent the same thing. I know that I can consolidate the same object types but is there any way to change an object from one type to another keeping the connects in the models intact?
i.e. replace all Application system objects with Application system type objects (keeping connections/attributes)
also replace specific object into another object type
Hope this makes sense, thank you

Hello Bradford,
in Architect there is a report to replace object types all over the database (cf. report category Administration). When assigning new object types, you must also assign symbol and connection types allowed by your method filter.
AFAIK the report lists object def. or connections that cannot be mapped, but only as an error log not written to output and you cannot revert to the original state, so please test test test on a sample of your database.
Before you begin you should check on the mapping of object attributes: if you have user defined attributes in your method filter you have to configure similar attributes in your target obejct types.
Also there is this thread about further tools/procedures in ABA to clean an inherited model DB.
