Dear all,
after updating from java 1.6 to JRE 1.7u21 the web start of ARIS Business Designer does not work anymore. Using a batch file and exactly the same parameters as in the java console it is working without any problems. Please find below the message from Java console, I apologize for any inconvenience arising from the message being partly in German.
After moving back to Java 1.6 the web start is working properly again. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated!

we are currently using ARIS 7.1.0.490292 (SR 2010_07) on our server. The ARIS Business Designer or ARIS Business Architect is started by browsing the server using IE9 and selecting first the application and then the database.
We have tested in the meantime a few different versions of the Java JRE on our clients, with a lot of them working, but we actually rolling out 1.7u21 to all our clients for security reasons and ARIS seems to have a problem with this release when started from the server.
Tested JRE versions which worked ok: 1.6u43, 1.6u45, 1.7u13
Not working: 1.7u21!

We had the same thing happen when Java 1.7.0_21 was rolled out. Our Prod server is ARIS 7.1.0.452596 (SR-05) and our Test server is 7.2.4.759374 (SR-04b). Couldn't connect to either instance. We had to roll back to Java 1.6.0_45. Just sharing......

Please contact Global Support ARIS arissupport@softwareag.com.
They can provide you with a patch for ARISLoader.jar, which helps to overcome the reported issue. Root-cause are blanks in the download path.

Hello Dave,
the Java 1.6u45 is working in our system. So you may have a different issue with your installation. In the meantime I've contacted the ARIS support and they told me that the patched ARISLoader.jar is not working with our release of ARIS (7.1.0.490292) and we should update to 7.2._SR 4d if we want to use JRE 1.7x. Maybe the update is working for you!
