Ive maintaned the name of the connection type "carries out" in French, but it doesnt seem to have any effect at all (after logout and login with French).
The only way I get any effect is if I change the original (english) name - but that doesnt make sense I think, does it?
Any ideas ?
BR,Peter
Hello Peter,
I'm not sure if I have the right understanding of your use case.
You can decide in the ARIS options what UI language and what method language should be used after starting the client (this choice is available for all languages you have installed with the client setup). You can start for example with French as method language. You may now change the name of the connection in the administration module from 'exécute' to e.g. 'exécute 1'. If you now have a look in a diagram the new name for this type of connection will be used (in the quick tip for an exsiting connection, when you draw a new connection, ...)
If you log in later with German or English method language, the original methodical names of the connection in these languages are used, because they have not been changed in the configuration.
For every element (diagram, object, connection) there is an original name and an active name in the configuration - and this seperately for every language. I just tried it and it works fine.
Or did I misunderstand your problem?
Regards
Uwe
Hello again,
No, I dont seem to get it to work...
From administration/configuration/Method/Connection types I doubleclick on "carries out", choose another language than english, maintane the actice and passive name in the forreign language and press OK.
When I then log in again with the foreign language, the english active/passive names still shows in the diagrams... what am I doing wrong here?

Hello Peter,
just tried the procedure you described again and it works fine. Did you really make sure to switch the method language, not the UI language or the database language? This is the only reason I can imagine why you don't see the changed names in French.
Best regards
Uwe
French as UI or Method language is only available if your ARIS client is installed in that language too. It seems as if your client is only installed in English. You have to start the setup program again, choose the modify-option and as only change select French in the setup procedure, leaving everything alse as it was before.
Best Regards
Uwe
Hello Peter,
you have to differentiate between method language and database maintenance language. You are able to maintain the attribute values in all languages which are supported by the operating system. The concrete languages plays no role for ARIS, because the tool does not have to care for it, we simply store the values.
The method language is a complete different thing. There are fixed terms, e.g. the "Event Driven Process Chain" in English. To be able to display all type names correctly in our UI we have to localize them in the same way as an error message for example. For that reason only those method languages are available for that we have localized client versions.
Hope this helps to understand our product behavior.
Best regards
Uwe
