Hi Rodrigo,

if you want to execute SAP transactions then you need to install the SAP GUI on the client only.

Best regards,

Sascha

Thank you Sascha for attention and the response.. but maybe i need to explain the full scenario (my first post isnt too clear)

I recently install Aris Business Publisher into a local machine with Derby database system, and then i exported a database with little models that include some SAP functions with a respective screen (showing the SAP code).. so on the client side i have installed SAPGUI 7.10 and what i need its when a user go to see a model through ARIS Business Publisher webpage he can launch the SAP Transaction when he double click over the SAP function object on the model (a little graphic of what i described):

(Imagine this is the model displayed on Aris Business Publisher webpage.)

Now, I hope that my explanation is good enough, Thank you.

Hi Rodrigo,

unfortunately at the moment it is not possible to start the transactions over the connected SAP funtion inside the Business Publisher, this is only possible inside the ARIS Business Architect for SAP. Therefore you have to click right on each screen object (transaction) and select the menu entry 'Run SAP transaction' to start the transactions.

But you have the possibility to maintain SAP transaction codes (like "VA01") inside the attribute "Transaction Code" and then you can start directly this transactions over the SAP Function.

To start the connected transactions over the SAP funtions is a requirement for the next versions of the BP SAP Connectivity.

Best regards,

Sascha

Hello it's me again :P.. Well i put in practice your tips Sascha and i got another problem, i will describe it using some images:

Now I can see SAP transactions with their respective code

When i press right click over a Transaction i got this contextual menu

Then i see this window

The problem is the windows automatically shut down after a few seconds.. and if i write very quickly the right connection parameters i got this message:

I installed SAP gui only on the server side.. i really dont know what its the problem, thanks for the attention.

Hi Rodrigo,

that is a known problem with the Java Runtime Environment which you are using.

You have to disable the "Next Generation Java Plug-in" option inside the java option panel.

Go to Start --> Settings --> System Settings --> Java and select the tab "Advanced" and

uncheck this option under the tree element Java Plug-in.

I hope it works ;-)))

Best regards,

Sascha

Hi,

I'm not sure what version of ARIS you're running (I believe the latest version does not require this) but it's possible you need to install wpsetup.exe on machines from which you wish to execute SAP transactions. Also, be certain that, whatever SAP system server you want to run the transaction on is set as the "Default server" (in your ARIS system).

Best Regards,

Bob

Thank you for the replies.. I'm using ARIS 7.1 (i don't remember exactly what release), also i installed WPSetup.exe on the server and client side.. so i discover that the problem of the transaction windows it's only occurs with Mozilla Firefox 3.6 i tested the procedure with another browsers and the window never close.. but i still have the problem seen on the last screenshot of my previous post:

I have installed SAPGUI 7.10 patch 15 on the server side only, and i have just one connection parameter defined on it so thats is the real problem until now (i hope isnt hard to solve) Thank you again guys!

Hi Rodrigo,

if you are using the Java Runtime Environment that version is higher than 1.6.07 then you have to disable the "Next Generation Java Plug-in" option or the SAP BP Connectivity dialogs will close automatically after a couple of seconds. Anotherpoint is that the transaction is starting over the SAP system which is marked inside the option dialog as DEFAULT Server - see the following picture:

Best regards,

Sascha

Hi Rodrigo,

the ARIS SAP transaction start functionality is always running on client side. Therefore please check if the SAP GUI was installed correctly on client side and start the transaction over the SAP GUI with the same SAP system on the client side. Did you replace the librfc.dll?

BR,

Sascha

Probably that is the origin of the problem... i was reading another thread with relationed problems and some guy says that the SAPGUI has only need to be installed on the server side.. so i uninstalled recently the front end program.. i will install again SAPGUI and i will tell you if it works (probably yes), and yes i replaced the librfc.dll file with the one contained in "sapjco-ntintel-2.1.8.zip" file. Thank you!

Hi Rodrigo,

the replacement of the librfc.dll could be the reason of the problems. The best is you reinstall the SAP Frontend (SAP GUI). In general you don't need to replace the liprfc.dll.

Sascha

It works! Thank you so much Sascha.. i only installed the frontend again and it works perfectly (with internet explorer 7, because mozilla firefox 3.6 always close the conectivity dialog window too early even if i deactivated the java option that you told me).. well the only strange thing now if when i closed the front end a dialog box shows a kind of error concerning the close of connection.. but it works, and thats is what i wanted.

Thank you again!

Hi All,

I'm planning on doing the same thing as Rodrigo. Does the Run SAP Transaction option appear if I publish models from ARIS for SAP or does it require an adaptor?

Can someone explain to me how this is achieved?

Thanks.

Hi...

I need your help...

The issue that I have is that inside a Function Allocation Diagram on Business Publisher I can launch the transaction but the transaction code doesn´t appear... So it never open the transaction... I published with entire method and with updated profile for the links...

Inside Architect the screen contains the transaction code and it is possible to run the transaction...

Followed by this error message...

Thanks alot...
