Hello friends...

I want to make some quiestions, about a undesired behavior of aris 7.1

1. One of our client wanted to upgrade ATS 7.02 to 7.1 (same happens in ABA), but it seems a lot of attributes are missing... mostly free attributes, only a few remains... we, in our company, didn't think this was reazonable, so we test it... amazingly, attributes were lost... in win xp, our clients OS;

We also found that problem in win vista, but in win7 works just fine...

Any one with this problem? could you solve it?? How?

2. Due to this problem, we had to create some user-defined attributes and now we need a script to extract those... but this attributes don't have api names, so we can't call them...

How do i do that?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Regards

Hi Alejandro,

User attributes from the Free attributes group from previous ARIS versions are no longer used as of version 7.1. You can now customize attribute type groups and attribute types.

To continue using the user attributes from previous versions, you must import the filters of the previous version, which contain all user attributes of the database. These user attributes will only be created and thus be visible once the filters have been imported. Then restore the database from the previous version on your current ARIS Business Server.

Alternatively, you can also use ARIS Converter. The key point is that you can only see the user attributes in the current ARIS version if you have imported the corresponding filters from the previous version.

Best Regards,

Bob

Thanks Robert

i will use some free attributes from aris 7.0.2.

then upgrading/importing configurations to aris 7.1, should do the trick, rigth? i mean, import these "customized" free attributes.

Thanks again...

Hi Alejandro,

Just to be clear, you import the filters that contain your 'user defined attributes' from version 7.02 into version 7.1. Then, restore your database and they should be there.

Hi,

What about custom attribute types? What is the best way to call them when coding. I usually use global variables to keep the type numbers, however this numbers appear to change over time, which makes it very difficult to keep them updated.

Thanks

I have created a custom attribute and it has two values 'Yes' and 'No'. I want 'No' to be default.

While creating the attribute there is no such option to make a value default.

Is there any other way to do this? Please help me to resolve this issue.

Thanks,

Gururaj

My suggestion would be to create the attribute as a 'boolean' (True/False) attribute. By default it is 'False' (or, in your case, 'No'). Then you check the box to make it 'True' (or, in your case,  'Yes').

Best regards,

Bob
