Last month I listened to a webinar hosted by the International Business Rules Forum. It was one of the few webinars before the forum starts on October 26 in Orlando. The BRF’s theme this year is "all around agility".
I am really happy to share with you the great news: IDS Scheer has joined recently The Open Group! You may wonder (if you are a bit outside Enterprise Architecture community) what this group is?
This article is a continues the previous article about business rules and vocabularies. Just as business processes and data form an important asset for any organization, they form the central asset for a rule-enabled organization, too.
I survived the evening event at Kosmos, a former movie theater which is now a great party location in the eastern part of Berlin. After just a few hours of sleep, I was sitting in the presentation held by Ian Charlesworth from Ovum Research. He offers us an analyst perspective on the merger of BI and BPM.
After the enterprise architecture overview in the previous presentation, the presentation I am currently attending focuses on IDS Scheer's approach to enterprise architecture management.
The main focus of ARIS ProcessWorld and ARIS User Day is on sharing best practices between ARIS users by having many different presentations and discussion rounds. As there are so many ARIS users around, it is, of course, a good idea to also ask them about how they experience the usage of the different ARIS products. This is done during the conference in the ARIS Usability Lab…
If I am not live blogging from ARIS ProcessWorld, you can find me at the SOA booth in the exhibition area, where we demo our SOA product. It seems the interest in SOA is growing. Many people are passing by who have read about it and who want to see what’s behind. One common question is about a very short introduction to SOA. So let’s try that here as well…
I am writing live from the Business Process Excellence Award. Each year, the best BPM projects receive an award from IDS Scheer. The award is being presented in six categories. The first category is Enterprise BPM. This year's winner is Boehringer Ingelheim. The company created an international BPM framework and achieved an improved business process performance.
At the end of the first day of ARIS ProcessWorld Dr. Wolfram Jost gave an overview of the latest product developments. He provided some new details about the ARIS integration in SAP.
I am writing live from the ARIS Product Innovation Track with the promising subtitle: Leading-Edge Concepts and Technologies for Innovative Process Management. The presentation started with a Star Wars look-alike movie. After a virtual dive from outer space into the Research laboratories of IDS Scheer, the first presentation began on the first level of the virtual laboratory.
As already mentioned in a my post from ARIS ProcessDay in Split , the IDS Scheer Tablesoccer Championship Finals were held in Berlin. On 8 tables , 32 teams played in 4 groups.
Having to deliver the first presentation after lunch is not always an appreciated task, because participants tend to be late and to walk in during the session. Steen Hadsbjerg of A.P. Moeller-Maersk was not facing this problem: His session was well attended from the beginning.
Yesterday, ARIS UserDay was already crowded, but today’s ARIS ProcessWorld has even more people. Some minutes ago, the Gartner session ended and the room was completely filled. There were several people sitting or standing at the walls to be able to listen to the presentation by Marc Kerremans of Gartner...
The IDS Scheer ProcessWorld has started with a Keynote speech by Professor Scheer. The keynote room of the Maritim Hotel in Berlin is completely filled by the audience. As a passionate jazz saxophonist, he starts, of course, with a short jazz play introduction with the song "Milestones".
