> Can we transform EPC models to BPMN models?
In brief: Yes. But ...
And now a more comprehensive answer.
EPC and BPMN are both formal notations to model (business) processes. Given that, both notations offer notation elements to model processes. As a result it is principally possible to transform from EPC to BPMN or vice versa with little loss of information only.
But ...
In most cases the transformation will result in loss of information. This is simply due to the fact EPC and BPMN are not semantically equal. EPC can express semantic not possible in BPMN and vice versa.
What is your aim? If your aim is to transform the visual representation, you have to face the fact: BPMN diagrams are commonly structured with swimlanes. EPC diagrams are classically not structured likewise. In the end manual work is required to give the BPMN diagrams the commonly expected look.
How uniform are your EPC models? Each construct used has to be transformed. If your source models are highly uniformly modeled you need only a few transformation rules. If it not uniform at all, simply forget automatic transformation.
Nevertheless I strongly advise you to do a business case before.
