ARIS BA on Windows 7?

Dear Alex,

I didn't try, but I would have a first look what happens if you deactivate the UAC (User Account Control) from Win7.(http://blogs.msdn.com/tims/archive/2006/09/20/763275.aspx). I've had many problems with this feature installing software on my machine...

I can say that it works on Win7 because at the moment I`m also using Aris BA 7.1 with Win7.. so I think that there shouldn`t be any problems..

Can you say please how did you install BA on Win7?

 

How we did it: start setup by windows’ admin. After ARIS files copying there was problem with registry write (error on Step 1 and closing setup).

 

I will be appreciate for any help with installation!

I did it like you.. but without the problems..

I just started the setup and at the end the programme was on my system... so I really coulnd`t help you with that because my installation went well. 

But maybe you should call the company where you got this software from!

Do you have 32 or 64-bit Win 7? As I suspect this problem is connected with 64-bit Win 7 that we have…

About company where we got this software – this is IDS, and as you see there are many answers from it ;)

you`re right about that.. I have Windows 7 with 32-bit... maybe it really doesn`t work with 64.. I hope that they will solve this problem and just write down what the answer is.. would be great..

I also tried installing ARIS 7.1 on windows 7 home premium edition but it did not work. Not sure if it is 32 or 64 bit

ARIS Business Architect is not released now on Microsoft Windows 7.

IDS Scheer is planning to release ABA on Windows 7 with Service Release ARIS 7.1 SR2010_07 (approx. release date: end of Q2 2010).

thanks for this information. But it is working on my personal notebook with Windows 7 on it! I have Windows 7 Ultimate with 32-Bit so I`m not really sure if your information is partly wrong.

@ ALL: Have you tried to start ABA 7.1 in the compatibility mode in Windows XP or Windows Vista? Maybe it will work then.

the information is, that ARIS 7.1 on Windows 7 ist not supported NOW. The official release will be with SR07. It's possible, that ABA is running without problems in your environment.

As Phong, I've installed ABA 7.1 on Windows 7 OS 32 bits and it works well.

But for Aris Business Server, I've some problems, and for the moment i'm not able to lauch it on my laptop.

I'm waiting to be able to do so because i'm working every day on ARIS and it will be great to install every thing on my new laptop.

I'm gonna try to reinstall Aris Business Server in the compatibility mode.

I've installed Aris Business Server again and everything is fine on Windows 7.

I've ABA, ABS and ABP working fine.
