All the clients face the issue with starting of ARIS Architect - it downloads new files (I suppose SR24), and then nothing happens.
Also, the page 'Download client' raises an error (see the screen attached)
Hi Frank,
Now it is worse. It starts, but for ONE session:
- Client downloads Architect the new 'Download page'
- Start it - all is ok, Architect opens.
- He closes Architect, and when he wants to start it again - it gets the page to download the client again!!! (see that page)
Does it means, they have to download the new client (jar file) every time they want to start Architect?
Hi
Does it means, they have to download the new client (jar file) every time they want to start Architect?
Yes. In this tenant, the SSO for download client is active. This makes it obsolete to specify the credentials at start time of ARIS.
- you need a new jar every time you want to start the rich client. You can use the jar only once.
- you need to be logged in into the portal at the same time.
- the jar as an "expiration date"... normally 5 minutes.
Bye,
Frank
Guys, I understand you are going to push everyone to the Web, but this update is a downgrade of the current SLA.
Most of the clients could not download them every time:
- Download restrictions - some clients can do this only with IT support.
- Run restrictions - some need Admin right to start .jar, so they download ones and provide access to the file, what do they do in this case?
- The worst case. what should the client do with with PROXY settings? Two of my clients use proxys.... These settings are in the current client )) so they should also add proxy settings every time the download new client?
On the background of this, sometimes there are internet connection drops, so they have to do this a couple of times during the day? It became extremely inconvenient, just terror.
Dear Alexander,
Have you turned off SSO for the ARIS download client?
Then you don't need to download the ARIS Launcher every time, but could just double click the already downloaded JAR file. That would resolve the expiration message.
If your customers have such strict security policies that prevent them from downloading the ARIS client, maybe installing the ARIS Client is then a better alternative. That would resolve the need to be administrator to start the JAR file.
As for proxy settings, I suggest you raise a support ticket to find a solution for each of your customers.
Getting disconnected from ARIS Server due to an interrupted Internet connection aren't circumstances we as the software provider could resolve for your customers. ARIS Client tries to reconnect for a while. Maybe that could be optimized. Maybe you want to raise a support ticket providing log files of an affected user.
Cheers

Hi Rune,
The window you showed is from this case, and it is not available anymore:
https://youtu.be/UKMDPgBkdQA?si=ZGxFjb1JNX8MbWI-
We could get to these options from server properties:
However, if there something wrong is selected, you cannot start the client anymore ) then you have to delete it, download new client and start trying with those options again
I forgot that you referred to ARIS Advanced.
Yes, the ARIS connection profile doesn't offer me to edit it due to the automatically set SSO which is very convenient for a user.
However, the proxy settings can still be edited in ARIS Advanced Architect via the properties of the server connection:
Does that work for you?
Cheers
