I was hoping someone might have some practical suggestions for me as to how to minimize or prevent simulations from crashing my machine.
I have a simple process (12 events, 5 functions, 2 XORs) and have setup simple simulation inputs for each (constant distributions, small number of users, no technical/operating resources, etc.). The simulation will successfully run to completion for fixed period of 1 day or less (to be clear, simulation time, not real time) and I get all the relevant statistics. Wonderful.
However, if I increase the period beyond 1 day then the simulation will always hang - not always at the same time, but always. And then I need to CTRL-ALT-DEL to kill the ARIS exe, wait to unlock the models, and try again. It's very frustrating.
It's not clear to me whether the issue is on the client or the server, but I've
- reduced the animation time
- turned all most of the client animations
- doubled the size of my server to 8 CPU / 32GB RAM (thank you, AWS. I love you!)
but all to no avail.
Ultimately, what I really want to do is simulate across multiple EPCs via assignments & process interfaces, but that's a pipe dream at the moment.
Has anyone experienced a similar situation and found some simple workarounds to get it going?

Hard to tell what's the problem with so little information. My suggestion would be to log a support incident via Empower if that's possible for you. You should then provide information on the ARIS version you are using and provide a sample model for reproducing the issue, either included in an ARIS database or as an XML export.
