I'm working in an insurance company where we have a large Lean program. Up till now brown paper sessions for defining and optimizing processes, are supported by using brown paper and yellow notes on the wall (which works amazingly well) and PowerPoint (mostly to draw the process afterward).
As we are using Aris more and more for describing our processes, we are also looking if we can use Aris to support these brown paper sessions. We already had a demo from Software AG of using VSM and this looks good. We are however looking for companies who are using Aris for brown paper sessions in Lean programs. Anyone where who is doing that?
What we like to do is get the process in a VSM or in a process map (as a swimlane/multicolumns display) and use that to see (interactively) what happens if we change something in the process. For example: if we use parallel processes in stead of serial, how much effect does it have on the processing time.
Hey Bram,
I am facing a same kind of challenge. I am doing a LEAN project at a Dutch mortgage provider.
Now I am considering to add the ARIS Six Sigma module to the Business Designer to speed up the group processes. Did you receive any useful answers to your question?
Kind regards,
Bram Kamp
Can I suggest you consider using ARIS Business Simulator to test the effectiveness of your various process improvement ideas. There are a number of posts under my name providing some guidance as to how simulation can add value,
To be clear, my company Lanner are simulation specialists and we provide the simulation software integrated into ARIS.
