Hi everybody,

this is to inform you that we've just put an update of ARIS Express online. If you're already an ARIS Express user, the software is going to be updated automatically.

What has been changed?

We changed the internal file format. As you might know, you will be able to import ARIS Express' ADF files into the ARIS Business Server (the so-called "professional" or "high end" products). The files from the old version cannot be imported. No problem: just open the files in the new Express version (7.0.1.425270), save them again, they will  be converted to the new format automatically.

What do you have to do?

If you have a newer JRE version (>= 1.6.14): nothing. The update happens in the background, and when finished, the the updated version will run when starting ARIS Express again.

If you use an older JRE version (1.6.10 to 1.6.13): just confirm the message that you want to update.

Bye,

Frank

Frank,

can you tell me how to import from express into Business Architect. I still only have the option in BA to import xml files, and express is still only giving me to option to save as adf files

thanks

John

Hi John,

in the version you're usingt, this possibility does not exist yet. The next Service Release of ARIS Business Architect 7.1 will support the import of ADF files into the Business Server.

Bye,

Frank

Hi Frank,

Many thanks to ease the upload of AE to the platform!.  We just can't wait to use 425270.

Could you be more specific about general availability ? (the 24Dec night perhaps?).

Best regards.

Bonjour Thierry,

actually, the version 425270 is already online... it already was as I posted this arcticle.

Your just need to start Express, and corresponding to the version of the JRE you are using, you are asked to update, or it is just updated automatically in background. You just need to wait a bit (you can see the update action by tracking the CPU usage of Express while you're doing nothing.)

Maybe this is a missunderstanding: this number 425270 refers to the new ARIS Express version.

Do you refer to the ARIS Business Architect beeing able to import the ADF content into the Business Server. This is planned to be released at the beginning of next year.

Bye,

Frank

Yes, I was refering to the ARIS Bus Architect version (currently 423484).

ARIS Express updated itself transparently to 425270: great feature!  Thanks.
