Hi! I am new to ARIS and the various types of ARIS using EPC standards which are currently being embedded into the IT/development/Enterprise Architecture world of the organsation I am currently working for. But a lot more experience in the world of process mapping using swimlanes and BPMN2.
I am currently looking to align and improve business process mapping and documentation to an evolving ARIS architecture framework of processes (based on the IFW framework for banks and financial service industry), but I am finding that the method and standards being used are quite cumbersome and not too user-friendly i.e. to enable me to associate a business activity to an ARIS defined 'process'.
Does anyone out there have any experience of this to highlight best practice and also pit falls we need to be aware of?
Many thanks for any advise/feedback you can provide.
Janine
A lot of people are waiting for the ability to define custom models that can have relationships between any objects.
I have seen organisations switch from ARIS, because of this rigid metamodel. Software AG knows this, and I have been told that a user defined metamodel is on the ARIS roadmap, but with no date as yet.
I would like to hear an official statement of when this will be possible!
Can anyone provide an answer?
