Hi Folks,
"Assignment" feature, by which you can link one object to the different model types is not available in ARIS Express (Beta).
I am not sure what would be the reason, but I feel it as a one of the standard feature that should be there in ARIS Express, especially when we are talking about BPM. The power of BPM lies to see the complete entrprise view to all the levels (Conceptual to Physical).
Without the assignment, we can't navigate from one model type to another, also it restricts you to Detail your model. Because if you trying to do so, you land up at a very complex model. More or less implementation of abstraction levels are not as smooth as in ARIS professional tool.

Parveen
Hi Parveen,
instead, you can use the "link" attribut to connect an object within a model to another ADF.
But Sebastian is right. Express is not a replacement for our professional products. For a real professional usecase, you need a repository in order to reuse and analyse business processes, enterprise architecture and so on.
Bye,
Frank
Hi Sebastein and Frank,
I got the point, even I smelled before I raised this.
Actually this is quite wrong to say that a particular feature is missing in ARIS Express, untill you are not clear about the Objectives. It depends on What Do you Want to Achieve..!!!
Could you please help me to understand what are the prime Objectives behind launching the ARIS Express, Obviously I am not asking Business Objectives :)
It would help us to test the ARIS Express with a certain view in our mind.

Parveen
Hi Parveen,
ARIS Express is meant as a tool for users entering the BPM space. We want to support users to get to know the value of BPM and to have a jump start into the topic. ARIS Express is not meant for professional users in an enterprise setting. Of course you can also use ARIS Express in such a setting, but we believe that you will need something more professional. For example, ARIS Express has no multiuser features, you can't customise the modelling conventions to your needs, etc. That are all things you will need if you plan to deploy it in a company.
I hope this gives you an idea where we are heading to with ARIS Express.
Regards,
Sebastian
