Hi,
Has anyone else had an issue with the amount of font displaying on objects differing depending if you are in ARIS Architect, ARIS Connect Designer & ARIS Viewer? (see images attached)
If so, what have you implemented to resolve this? We already have the font size set to 'Size 8'.
We are using the following versions:
Portal version: 10.0.20.1.2824117 (Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at 05:10:34 GMT)
ARIS version: 10.0.20.1.2824117 (Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at 06:58:42 GMT)
Thanks,
Leanne
Hi Leanne. I just thought I would chime in so you know you are not unique or special in regards to this issue. We had noticed this "rendering" issue mid last year (2022), but I didn't open a SAG ticket as I didn't feel it was a very serious issue as it wasn't really affecting us adversely.
So sorry, no solution. Maybe someone else out there in the Aris Community will jump in with a solution, but I suspect this is a SAG ticket item if we want it fixed. I will keep watching your post to see if anything else comes in that can help us both out.
Just in case anyone else is having this issue, following the steps below seemed to resolve the issue for us.
- ARIS Connect Designer uses the fonts from Architect / Administration / Configuration / Conventions / Font formats
- ARIS Connect Viewer uses the font from Administration / Evaluations / Fonts.
Follow these steps to add the font to Administration / Evaluations / Fonts.
- Double check on ARIS Connect Editor which font is taken. For example, ARIAL is used.
- Start ARIS Architect and select ARIS / Administration
- Go to: Evaluations / Fonts
- Right-click on Fonts. The font has to be added.
To add the font:
- Select "Add font"
- Select the C:\Windows\Fonts directory. Add the font name, for example, ARLRDBD.ttf
- (In case the selection of C:\Windows\Fonts is not available, download the font first to your Desktop. Then add it from your Desktop)
Please note:
- There may be several fonts in one font family to add.
- For example ARIAL. Add all fonts you have from the ARIAL font family.
Prerequisite:
- The font needs to be available on C:\Windows\Fonts
- In case the font is not available on C:\Windows\Fonts it needs to be applied for "all users". This needs Administrator rights.
Hope that helps!
Thank you for posting the solution Leanne. It worked for me as well exactly as you described.
Our issue seemed to be with a Calibri font. Added the font and the "rendering" looks the same in Edit and Published mode. Awsome.
How did you find the solution? Did you actually open a SAG ticket?
A perfect example of the Aris Community at work. :-)
Thanks again.
