We just implemented ARIS 9.6, we are currently running on 1 Windows VM with 4 cores.
Based on the ARIS Matrix, we should be using 12 cores. Can you clarify if this puts our ARIS environments in risk of either performance issues or future application support challenges?

The ARIS Platform Matrix provides just a good practice. A proper sizing is a task which need to consider several parameters, such as number of databases & sizes, number of simultaneous users etc.
You could contact Global Support ARIS to request assistance for your sizing.
