Hi everybody,
I would be very interested in your recommandations for the books you found valuable in any field related to BPM.
My question is simple what are the top 3 bpm books for you ?
Best regards,
Hi everybody,

My question is simple what are the top 3 bpm books for you ?
Best regards,
Have you read these two books by Rob Davis?
The first one is also available as an interactive e-learning course (see lesson 1 "What is BPM").
It's a pleasant way to dive into the world of BPM without getting lost in the technology space.
Cheers

Yes, I didn't want to influence the results :)
Too bad they are not up to date.
I was more thinking about methodology books which is where the challenge is.
I would include "Business Process Management - The Third Wave" from Smith and Fingar, because it is the ideological base for most BPMS systems you see today.
I also have some must reads in German, but they probably don't qualify for an international reading list.
Keith D. Swenson (editor), 2010
Mastering the Unpredictable
How Adaptive Case Management Will Revolutionize the Way That Knowledge Workers Get Things Done.
this adds a new perspective on how to deal with less structured, not strictly deterministic processes. At first it sounds like the art formerly known as (expert) decision support systems, but this year Forrester Research evaluated (the Forrester Wave) and coined the term "Dynamic Case Management Solutions" DCM which complement to BPM systems.
found first on Thomas Allweyer's blog in German
I think the funny thing about this "Adaptive Case Management" stuff is that this has always been an essential part of BPM, but the authors like Keith managed to resell it under a new brand ;-)
I worked on the list and published it on my blog (french) :
to add to bpmn chapter. I guess it will make the reading list even more ultimate
