Is it possible to configure a page counter for a mashapp page, or must this be done in the server config (and how could I then view it on my page)?

you can only do this indirectly by having a surrounding webpage in which you embed a mashapp page by using an iframe/div. You can place the webcounter on the surrounding webpage then and publish the url of the surrounding page instead of the mashapp page itself.
