We have adopted ARIS as our modelling tool and thought that we would be able to use Express as a front end workshop modelling tool that would temporarily hold the models until we imported them into ARIS business designer where we are developing our process heirarchial landscape. However the importing of express model into Business Designer sucks as a function so much that it is pretty pointless to perform it and the modeller is better off printing the Express map and then manually inputting into BD. This is working against our aim of using ARIS as a modelling tool as we were hoping to use Express to eradicate Visio but we haven't got a leg to stand on with our argument as Express is no better than visio so the majority of them are remaining in visio. THose who have been trained in Express are remaining in that tool rather than have all the rework into Bus Design. So if anyone has the answer please enlighten me to what use ARIS Express is because we can only see it in as much use as a chocolate fireguard and are there any plans to improve the importing function to successfully hook up the two tools so that they are added value and make my life a lot easier prior to my retirement in 20 odd years time. If anyone knows a slick importing process then please let me know and what versions are required.
