I completed the upgrade from ARIS 7.2 to ARIS 9.6.
I would like to ask a question regarding the ARIS 9.6. In ARIS 9.6 when the two DBs have merged to form a new DB through an API which known as the MergeComponent.startMerge, it takes lots of time compare to the ARIS 7.2.
I used standard API. So, I tested to measure the running time separately without any logic.
I made separate report and tested to compare the amount of time to calling the value from DB without any logic.
To compare appropriately, I brought only 1,000 data from GetValue(Read value from DB) to the SetValue (Input value to DB). Based on the test, it takes 292 seconds in ARIS 9.6 and 8 seconds in ARIS 7.2. I assume that difference between two versions occurs during the SetValue action because the conditions are not much big difference during the GetValue.
Sending data to Solman is all included in the SetValue and already obtains many objects.
To sum up, I would like to know why it takes much more time to merge two DBs in ARIS 9.6 compare to the ARIS 7.2. Moreover, are there any solution to reduce the time in ARIS 9.6
Dear Shihoon,
In order to get a significantly higher performance for migrating ARIS 7.2 databases into ARIS 9, I recommend you to go for ARIS 9.7 SR1. The time needed to convert and restore an .ADB file in ARIS 7 format into an ARIS 9.7 installation has been greatly improved.
As for the report issue I can't help. If you need a solution, please open a support ticket via https://empower.softwareag.com.
