Yesterday, I attended the webcast of AMR Research "Using Business Intelligence and Performance Management Technology To Accelerate Out of the Downturn" with John Hagerty. He presented some results of a study with more than 600 companies about there expectations towards business intelligence and performance management.
One key finding / recommendation (to buyers as well as vendors of tools) was: "Make it easy to consume (the information)". This means especially to promote the use of dashboards as dashboards are from his point of view the best way to "getting more use by the business".
I think by using ARIS MashZone and the new release of ARIS PPM companies are well prepared, especially as John also pointed out that the top three BI/PM benefits the companies see are
- "personalized content for information consumers based on responsibilty and area of interest": perfect fit for ARIS MashZone: re-assemble and enrich your data as it is neccessary for your personal needs.
- "better insight to operational performance": Who can do better than ARIS PPM? To understand your operational performance you need insight to process performance and process structures - that's what PPM delivers.
- "easy-to-consume metrics about business performance": That's dashboarding at its best.
So if you want learn about performance management have a look at this webcast - and ARIS MashZone and ARIS PPM 5.
If you are new to ARIS MashZone please note that it has not been released yet but it is in a beta testing phase. But you can already see it in action:
