Hello Community,

I'm facing a problem in my business process simulation regarding the working break in my shift calendar and the dynamic waiting time.

My shift calendar looks like this:

1) morning shift (8.30 to noon)

2) lunch break (12.00 to 1PM)

3) afternoon shift (1PM to 5.30PM)

4) finishing time (5.30PM to 8.30AM next day)

Everything works fine here, there's no activity running during lunch break and during finishing time, but the break time always shows up in the dynamic waiting time. I'm aware of the correctness, but I don't want the break time to be part of the dynamic waiting time because it dilutes the result of my process statistic. Is there any chance to exclude the break time from the dynamic waiting time?

Thank you very much for you help! =)

I'm not sure if I understand you correctly. Do you mean that you don't want dynamic wait time to be recorded at functions while the resources assigned to the functions are not available due to non-working times in their shift calendars? Such a behavior cannot be configured.

Also, what would you want to achieve with this? Usually, I'd say, you want to track waiting times regardless of the type of resource unavailability. Consider a call center, for example. People calling the call center will have to wait for an answer if there is no call center agent available and it does not make a difference if this is due to all of them being on the phone with other clients or due to them having their lunch break.

Yes, you got it, that's what I mean. I want to separate the non-working times from the dynamic waiting time, but according to you it is not possible so I have to accept it :-)

Thank you very much for your help. It's always good to know that I can count on helpful people here =)
