I try to install ARIS 9.5 client on Windows 7 x64. I selected Architect/Designer as product in the installer with local standard database system. During the installation I get the following error:
"Error installing components 'registry' "
When I check the install log, it see the following error:

Anybody experiencing the same problem who knows how to solve this?
The installation without local standard database systems succeeds without errors, but I want a standalone setup, so I need the local standard database.

Next week there will be an updated ARIS 9.5 version released. Most likely your issue has been resolved there.
The subject here was about installing ARIS Client, which is not available for Ubuntu. In order to get a response from the whole community about your inquiry installing ARIS Design/Connect Server on Ubuntu please repost your question as new post.
Same problem here. Same error message. Local database with ARIS 9.7 won't install on my Win7 machine, even though it has worked on this computer before. Any solutions?
Edit: My error message in the log file is different.

Did you completely remove ARIS 9.7 before trying to reinstall it?
This includes to remove the folder where you installed ARIS, e.g. folder C:\SoftwareAG\ARIS9.7. If that it blocked against deletion, then reboot your computer and try again.
I'd also recommend to remove folder %UserProfile%\ARIS90 where certain client settings are stored.
I encounter the exact same problem while i am trying to install Aris 9.8 .I have installed Aris 9.7 with student license in October and now i get a new license iI uninstalled Aris9.7 and delete all the folders but when i try to install new Aris with the new license a get an error that registry components cannot be installed .Any idea what i could do cause i have to finish my diploma thesis immediately ?

Seems as if you are installing not from a physical drive or mapped network drive but from a UNC path (\\vmware\Shared Folders...). That's not supported and might lead to such a behaviour.
I suggest to map an ISO file into your VMware image via its CD drive. CDBurnerXP can creat ISO files for free.
Of course, make sure that your ARIS installation is completely empty after uninstalling 9.7 before you start installing ARIS 9.8.
Firstly, i would like to thank you for the immediate answer. I tried to install Aris 9.8 in a Windows PC where there was not another version of Aris installed but i get exactly the same error .Is there any possible way to fix that ?

ARIS 9 doesn't support 32-bit Windows anymore since 9.6. This is important when you are about to install an ARIS server, which LOCAL actually is. The pure ARIS Client (without LOCAL) still works on 32-bit Windows.
